Throughout High school I didn't really realize how much art meant to me until I went to college. The only art class I took in high school was ceramics. I took it all 4 years and even became the TA for 2 years. My ceramics classes were my absolute favorite part of my day. I enjoyed my time, finished quickly and even helped other students when they were struggling with their projects. When my ceramics teacher would use my work as an example for the class it brought me joy, but I didn't really think much of it.
High school ended and I took a year off because I simply didn't see myself going to college. After a really tough year due to the passing of my father I decided to register for classes and went to Santa Ana College. I didn't know what I wanted to do so I was undeclared as my major. My first semester I took counseling 116. It was a class that helped you learn about yourself and your interests. We took many personality tests and spent lots of time reflecting. I always fell under the creative and caring side of exams.
My professor was very wholesome and helpful. Her class made me realize my love of the arts. Her class also made me realize how much I enjoyed spending time with children.I come from a big family, so kids, crowds, and loud talking isn't new to me. Teaching! Teaching high school art is what I discovered that I want to do.
